To make an Internet connection

  1. Open Network Connections.
  2. Double-click New Connection Wizard, and then click Next.
  3. Click Connect to the Internet, and then click Next.
  4. Click Connect using a dial-up modem, and click Next.
  5. If prompted, select the check box for the modem you want to use for this connection, and click Next.
  6. Type the name of your ISP in ISP Name, and click Next.
  7. Type the phone number of your ISP, including the area code, in Phone number, and click Next.
  8. Make the connection available to any user or only to yourself by selecting Anyone’s use or My use only.
  9. In User name, type the account name your ISP assigned to you. In Password and Confirm password, type the password for your account name, and click Next.
  10. If you want to create a shortcut for this connection on your desktop, select the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop check box.
  11. Click Finish.
